About the job

Requirements
  • Roughly 1–3 years of experience, or equivalent aptitude demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, internships, bootcamp work, or a portfolio; trajectory and fundamentals are weighed over a strict years threshold.
  • An early instinct for full-stack versatility, with comfort in front-end and back-end work equally; the work involves building user interfaces, not design or user experience.
  • Ability to obtain or current possession of a U.S. Secret security clearance; an active or prior clearance is a strong plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience through bootcamp, military technical training, or a strong personal project portfolio.
  • Foundational React and JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
  • Foundational Python skills.
  • Basic REST API concepts.
  • SQL fundamentals.
  • Git-based version control.
  • English fluency.
Responsibilities
  • Build front-end components, interfaces, and application logic in React/TypeScript, and back-end services and APIs in Python, developing range across the stack under senior guidance.
  • Build basic familiarity with data fundamentals as part of growth on the team, without practicing data engineering.
  • Work within a modern collaborative software development life cycle, including Git branching and pull requests, peer code review, continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot in secure cloud environments with senior support.
  • Take direction from architects, senior developers, and product owners, and translate it into working, well-tested code.
  • Participate in agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, testing, and release.
  • Sit in on client conversations and pod discussions.
  • Apply modern AI and generative AI tools, including coding assistants, as part of learning and building.
  • Take feedback, learn quickly, and raise engineering craft against team standards.
  • Work closely with the team and travel to client delivery sites as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to FastAPI or a similar modern API framework.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Exposure to Docker or containerization.
  • Basic secure-coding awareness and general familiarity with secure development practices.
  • Personal projects, hackathons, open-source contributions, or coursework demonstrating initiative and range.
  • Some natural interest in data.
  • Comfort using modern AI and generative AI tools day to day, or eagerness to build that fluency quickly.

Graypool raises $5M pre-seed from Werner and Kearney to automate freight dispatch

Graypool, formerly known as HOPTEK, has raised $5 million in pre-seed funding. The Atlanta-based startup announced the round and its rebrand at the American Trucking Associations' Management Conference & Exhibition in Charlotte. Investors include Werner Enterprises, Kearney, LPX Partners, Venture 53, and Jerk Ventures. Graypool's software helps truckload carriers decide which freight to take. It connects to existing transportation management systems and load boards, accepts profitable contract and spot loads, and routes exceptions for review. Werner, an investor and customer, books about $1.5 million in freight weekly through Graypool Source. Graypool says it has facilitated $150 million in annualized freight revenue across its customers. The company plans to expand its engineering teams and connect carriers to more sources of demand.

Beroe and Kearney launch MAX, AI decision engine connecting procurement data to execution

Beroe and Kearney have launched MAX, an AI-native decision engine for procurement, at DPW NYC. The platform connects intelligence and execution systems, continuously surfacing margin opportunities whilst optimising risk and ESG compliance. MAX addresses procurement's expanding mandate by providing real-time recommendations when market conditions shift, such as tariff changes or commodity price spikes. Built on a neurosymbolic framework, it combines Beroe's 30 million live market signals with Kearney's proprietary methodology and applies them against a company's own spend data. The product was developed with a Strategic Advisory Council of 13 global procurement organisations. It enables category managers to monitor every supplier and category continuously, rather than focusing selectively on the top 20% of spend. MAX will be available to select customers over the coming months.

Kearney partners with ServiceNow to deploy agentic AI for enterprise transformation

Kearney, a global management consulting firm, has partnered with ServiceNow to help organisations implement agentic AI at enterprise scale. The collaboration combines Kearney's strategic consulting expertise with ServiceNow's AI Platform to accelerate digital transformation and operational efficiency. The partnership focuses on three areas: operational excellence through faster exception handling, workflow optimisation with improved process velocity, and end-to-end impact via AI-enabled process orchestration. Kearney's approach, called BPR.ai, reimagines entire business processes rather than simply automating individual tasks. In a recent client engagement, the methodology helped transform an IT organisation into an AI-first operations model, achieving over 30% annual cost reduction whilst accelerating deployment of agentic AI across IT services. The offering targets sales, operations and service functions across organisations.
